T-Ball

T-Ball Softball Division: What You Need to Know

The T-Ball Division is the perfect starting point for girls ages 4 to 6 who are new to softball. This division introduces the fundamentals of the game in a fun, supportive, and instructional environment, helping young players develop skills and a love for the game.

Who Plays in T-Ball?

  • 4-5-Year-Olds: Players who are just beginning their softball journey.
  • 6-Year-Olds: Girls with no prior softball experience. Players with one year of T-Ball experience may be eligible for Minor B after a discussion with league representatives and parents.

What Can You Expect?

  • Game Structure:
    • Players primarily hit off a tee to develop hand-eye coordination and proper hitting mechanics.
    • As the season progresses, coach pitching will be introduced to prepare players for future divisions.
    • Games and practices focus on fun and learning without keeping score.
  • Skills and Fundamentals:
    • Players will learn basic skills such as hitting, fielding, throwing, catching, and baserunning.
    • Emphasis is placed on teamwork, sportsmanship, and building confidence.

If your daughter is new to softball and ready to start learning the game in a fun and welcoming environment, T-Ball is a great fit!


Minor B

Minor B Softball Division: What You Need to Know

The Minor B Division is designed for girls ages 6 to 9 who are ready to take the next step in their softball journey. This division focuses on teaching the fundamentals of the game in a fun, supportive, and instructional environment.

  • Who Plays in Minor B?
    • 6-year-olds: Girls with at least one year of T-Ball experience.
    • 7-8-year-olds: Players building their skills and game knowledge.
    • 9-year-olds: Girls new to softball or those needing additional development before moving to the Minor A Division.
  • What Can You Expect?
    • Game Structure:
      • Teams are kept small (up to 10 players) to ensure each girl gets plenty of playing time and instruction.
      • A 12-game schedule emphasizes skill-building over competition—no scores or standings are kept. There are no umpires.
      • Games have a 1 hour and 45-minute time limit.
    • Rules That Focus on Learning:
      • A mix of coach and player pitching, gradually transitioning as the season progresses.
      • Coaches are on the field to guide and encourage players.
      • No bunting, stealing, or walks—just a focus on learning the basics.

If your daughter is new to softball or looking to continue developing her skills in a low-pressure environment, Minor B is a great fit!

Minor A

Minor A Softball Division: What You Need to Know

The Minor A Division is designed for girls ages 8 to 10 who are ready to advance their softball skills in a competitive and instructional environment. This division balances player development with friendly competition, preparing girls for higher levels of play.

Who Plays in Minor A?

  • 8-Year-Olds: Players with at least one year of experience in Minor B.
  • 9-10-Year-Olds: Experienced players looking for a more competitive level of play.
  • 11-Year-Olds: First-time or less experienced players may participate with league approval

What Can You Expect?

  • Game Structure:
    • Teams play a 14-game schedule that transitions from Player/Coach Pitch in the first half of the season to Player Pitch Only in the second half.
    • Games are scored, and standings are kept using a points system to track rankings.
    • Games have a 1 hour and 45-minute time limit
  • Rules That Balance Competition and Learning:
    • Players build on their skills with guidance from coaches and competitive gameplay.
    • Umpires officiate games

If your daughter has prior softball experience and is ready for a fun yet competitive environment to grow her skills, Minor A is a great choice!

Majors

Majors Softball Division: What You Need to Know

The Majors Division is designed for girls ages 11 to 12 (or 10 yo with significant softball experience) who are experienced softball players seeking a competitive and challenging level of play. This division emphasizes advanced skill development, teamwork, and strategic gameplay while preparing players for higher levels of competition.

Who Plays in Majors?

  • 10-Year-OldsPlayers with significant softball experience in Minor A, subject to evaluation or board approval.  Less experienced 10 year olds are encouraged to stay in Minor A.
  • 11-12-Year-Olds: Advanced players looking for a higher level of competition.
  • 12-Year-Olds: May be dual-rostered on both a Majors and Junior Division team.

What Can You Expect?

  • Game Structure:
    • A 16-game season featuring Player Pitch throughout the entire season.
    • Standings are tracked using a points system (win = 3 points, tie = 2 points, loss = 1 point).
    • The top teams compete in a single-elimination Metro Tournament of Champions at the end of the season.
    • Drop 3rd strike, unlimited run, stealing all bases

If your daughter is an experienced softball player looking for a competitive environment to grow her skills, the Majors Division is an excellent choice!

Juniors

Junior Softball Division: What You Need to Know

The Junior Division is designed for league-age 12 to 15-year-olds who are experienced softball players looking to compete at an advanced level. This division focuses on skill development, teamwork, and preparing players for higher levels of competition, including opportunities for international tournaments.

Who Plays in Juniors?

  • 12-Year-Olds: Players with advanced skills may dual-roster on a Major and Junior Division team.
  • 13-15-Year-Olds: Players ready for a competitive environment with a focus on higher-level gameplay.

What Can You Expect?

  • Game Structure:
    • A 16-game season played on a conventional 60-foot diamond with a 43-foot pitching distance.
    • Games follow a points-based ranking system (win = 3 points, tie = 2 points, loss = 1 point).
    • All teams participate in a single-elimination Metro Tournament of Champions at the end of the season.

If your daughter is ready for an advanced, competitive environment, the Junior Division is a great choice!


 

All-Stars

All-Stars Softball: Compete at the Next Level

The All-Star tournament is an exciting opportunity for players to represent our league in competitive play against other teams in our district. Teams that excel can advance to the State Championship for Minors (8/9/10 year olds) and, for Majors and older divisions, have the chance to compete all the way to the prestigious Little League Softball World Series.

About All-Stars

Division Representation: Each division (e.g., Minor A, Majors, Juniors) can form All-Star teams.

Competitive Play:
Teams represent our league, competing against the best players from other leagues in the district and beyond.

Character and Skill:
Players are selected based on their ability, sportsmanship, and character, embodying the values of our league.

Player Requirements
To participate in All-Stars, players must meet the following criteria:

Game Participation: Players must have played in at least 8 regular season games.

Availability: Players must be available for all District-level games.

Player Verification: Parents must provide required documentation for player verification.

Note: There is an additional fee to cover the cost of the All-Star jersey for players selected to the team.

How All-Star Teams Are Formed
Invitation:
Parents of qualifying players will receive an email notifying them of the All-Star tournament.

Registration: Interested players register online for tryouts.

Tryouts: 
Tryouts are held if the pool of interested players exceeds 12.

The tryouts are overseen by head coaches.
